The J.7 artistic team presents extraordinary stylings and looks once a year with their 'creative collection.' These selected styles know no limits. They are easily recognizable for their primal, effervescent joy in experimenting, unbound by rules.

The J.7 school presents new trend looks twice a year. Why then an additional 'creative collection'?

With our trend collections, we work with existing tendencies and developments. Then, a unified project is realized with shape, color, and styling, representing a further evolution of fashion trends. The rules are clearly recognizable, like guardrails along streets.

All this means is that with the conception of trend looks, a given path is followed. This involves much conceptual thinking and planning. It’s also a lot of fun, but when you've been doing it as long as we have, you feel like venturing into other areas. Like going off-road driving.

Which guiding ideas are important for the trend collection?

Is this a topic in fashion? Can it be converted? Can we communicate it to other stylists during our workshops? And of course – Does it work with male and female clients? Even a very creative result we are looking at has many restrictions right from the beginning.

So you want to run wild creatively. In competitions, this should be in the category 'avant-garde,' right?

Yes. However, I have noticed that at least with the second participation in a contest, these internalized rules suddenly return. Instead of letting creativity flow freely, you think about it too much and try to figure out what the jury might like to see. Or - How does my style have to look in order for me to win? I have observed this behavior att international and national competitions as well as during our own J.7 Creative Award, where only our employees participate.

And why is that different with the ‘creative collection’?

It's different because from the beginning, there was one wish: I just want to do hair. Detached from all directions and without regard to any competitions, I just want to experiment with hair and photography. The result is a fleeting work of art, a creative shot of one moment in time. It doesn't have to be reproduced. The original stands alone.

That means you are looking for as much creative freedom as possible?

Correct. And I also want to include the Artistic Team, the Makeup Artist, the Stylist, and the Photographer in this.

How did your team respond to this new approach?

It wasn't easy in the beginning. Sometimes, when there is so much freedom, you just don’t know where to start. It takes a while until you venture with confidence into this wide-open space without a path and direction, and the first original idea comes to life. But exactly this is what is so incredibly exciting: to work just for the moment and forget all about publicity and winning

Collar and Cuffs

Gypsy look hair

Free like the wind and the song of a gypsy. Let your hair flow and dance to your own tune. Spread your wings and float away with a head full of highly textured long tresses. The long bangs fly sideways with a happy attitude, and the reddish-blonde hair is partly crimped, teased, and fluffed.

Dress up with a collar and cuffs connected by a stringy 'shirt.' All colors in this look seem too opposite to get along. However, connected through texture and motion, the copper, pink, and lagoon green form a turbulent and refreshing harmony.

Flowing Satin

Dress in flowing satin and teased hair pulled together in a loose up do

Ethereal beauty in pink. Flowing satin and hair like a kiss from heaven. A bouncy, softly upward-styled hairdo brings out the night princess in all of us, especially when clad in a simple yet elegant dress. The blonde hair with dark roots has been heavily teased and pulled together in a loose updo with its center at the crown.

A few loose strands soften the look even more and add that special touch of magic. Magical is also the word for the soft makeup, with some strong statements between the corners of the eyes and the temples.

Sun-kissed Hair

Sun-kissed hair in medium and light blonde shades

A golden fairy of summer with sun-kissed hair in medium and very light blonde shades, dressed in silken yellow glow. Hair, used as an artistic medium, can produce the most astonishing results. Wearable art that demands to be touched.

This overly abundant opulence is achieved by adding extensions to long or medium-length hair. Layers keep most of the volume around the head, like sun-drenched cotton candy, while a very long flow of tapered hair falls down the side. Much teasing brings out the texture, and spray holds it all together.

Ethno and Punk

Hair styled in a combination of ethno and punk

A sci-fi siren emerging from a pool of liquid passion. The hair is an eclectic combination of ethno and punk, infused with an overdose of creativity and skill.

Silken blonde strands are styled straight up in front, towards the back on the side, and cascading from the crown to the shoulders, creating the strong silhouette of a modern seductive warrior woman.

Teasing and a good amount of product are needed to create this extraordinary design.

Wild Afro Style

Wild afro style with twisted, curled and teased hair

Midnight madness with the scent of sandalwood and lemon. A wild afro style explodes into a symphony of texture and volume. The sheer opulence of this style is cosmic.

A thick and strong core of the layered, round silhouette serves as the base for thousands of twisted, curled, and teased strands to radiate outward in a truly cosmic fashion.

A strapless yellow gown adorned with starlight rhinestones and a transparent wrap supports the expression of the intense hair without drawing too much attention from it.
