Kris Kardashian-Jenner Haircut

Kris Kardashian-Jenner haircut how to

Q: Hello, I have a client who wants her hair cut like Kris Kardashian. From all the pictures I have seen it looks like a short cut longer in the back than the front but it is very hard to tell exactly the cut from the pictures. Could you please send the technical specifications on this haircut? I love your website!

A: I have looked up photos of Kris Kardashian-Jenner and here are the specifics of this style. Please see the associated photos and graphic.

The style is a longer-version of a classic pixie cut shag. The majority of the bulk in the style rests in the top and crown sections as this hair is layered using over-direction techniques to allow for a lot of movement and bounce in the hair and to give some added versatility in overall styling. The shortest lengths reside along the lower edge of the perimeter and the sides, in particular, are undercut in order to allow the upper layers free movement.

The graphic shown will hopefully allow you to visualize the shape to aim for as you cut the hair and create the layers. The top and crown sections can be easily shaped by over-directing the hair in the sections shown by the colored zones to the opposing oblique corner and cutting the hair at those points. This ensures that the longest lengths will remain in the top center of the head and allow the hair to flip, and bounce, and remain versatile regarding the styling.

The specific lengths you'll use depend on the shape and proportions of the individual client's face. However, once the basic shape is achieved, don't forget to follow-up with texturing in order to soften the edges and enable the specific styling elements to be achieved.

This can be done using a razor tool, or by point cutting, but be sure to balance the texture to the overall length of the layers and use angles steep enough to allow you to create the choppy, flipped out ends when styling the hair.
