Magnetic Rollers

Q: I have an Ogilvie perm that I want to use. Can magnetic rollers be used to roll the hair for the perm? I would really appreciate an answer. Thank you so much!

A: Magnetic rollers to me are the basic plastic cylinder rollers used in a standard wet roller set. These are perfectly safe to use in perming to give much larger waves or to simply add volume and body (when using the largest sizes).

The only concern I can see is the type of clips you use to secure the magnetic rollers. You want to make sure to use clips that are plastic, or at least plastic-coated so you can prevent any damage to the hair caused by a chemical reaction between the metallic clips and the perming solution or neutralizer.
