Conscious Sedation and a Perm

Q: Can I have my hair permed after conscious sedation? What is the soonest?

A: Since conscious sedation has a much lesser effect on the physical processes of the body, you should have no trouble with having a perm after conscious sedation - at least from the standpoint of the perm processing properly.

However, the perm service does use chemicals that have strong fumes in many cases, and if you are concerned about possible adverse reactions, you will need to speak to your physician or a nurse in his office before you proceed.

Sometimes the medications taken during surgical procedures can make us more sensitive to other stimuli. Only a medical professional is qualified to advise you as to the potential interactions that could occur.
